Lotus Innovations LLC in Irvine acquired Commerx Corp., a leading global provider of digital and telecommunications services. The buy was on undisclosed terms
Commerx Corp. develops telecom and internet network infrastructure and services for companies in over 85 countries. It focuses on network transformation, telecom services, IT managed services, and digital strategy.
“Helping carriers transform their networks into the digital age is critical to supporting the explosion of content we’re seeing” said Lotus Innovations Managing Director Philip Jones. “Commerx has built very strong relationships with telecom carriers around the world, as well as strategic relationships partnering with technology providers focused on network transformation.
Lotus Innovations invests in early-stage information technology services companies and provides operations and staff to entrepreneurs. The firm has $40 million under management and is raising $50 million for its second fund. It employs 12, all in OC.
Lotus acquired Edge Technologies in Reston, Va., a developer of cyber security software, last month.
