David Pyott will remain chair of the Allergan Foundation, according to Actavis PLC, the Ireland-based drug maker that recently wrapped up its $72.5 billion buy of Irvine-based Allergan Inc.
Pyott, Allergan’s longtime chief executive, elected not to join the board of the combined company, which is set to take the Allergan corporate name.
The Allergan Foundation, which is located within Allergan’s Dupont Drive campus, was established in 1998. It has distributed over $50 million to various philanthropic pursuits, according to its website.
“I am very pleased to be continuing as chairman of the board of the Allergan Foundation, where I can continue its important work,” Pyott said in a statement.
