The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond declined 0.54% to 1.67%.
The price of gold was flat at $1,279.
Irvine-based Broadcom Corp. was down 4.1% to $40.70 and a $24.4 billion market cap on profit-taking after two sessions of increases on positive quarterly numbers, and Intel Corp.’s plans to buy Munich-based Lantiq, to strengthen its position compared to Broadcom’s in making chips for the cable modem and Wi-Fi markets.
Irvine-based Boot Barn Holdings Inc. was up 3.9% to $20.97 and a market cap of $539.1 million in the run-up to its most recent quarterly report, set for Wednesday after markets close. Analysts expect the western-apparel retailer to earn 35 cents per share, up nearly 300% year-over-year.
