Professional surfer Kelly Slater will endorse surf product for Costa Mesa-based Volcom Inc. and Electric Visuals in San Clemente.
Both brands are part of Paris-based luxury clothing and accessories company Kering, which backs Slater’s own clothing label, Outerknown in Los Angeles. He also said he will endorse Puma’s Cobra golf gear, another Kering brand.
“I was recently in Paris to meet the whole team at Kering headquarters,” Slater posed on his Instagram page over the weekend. “I was totally blown away by their level of expertise in sustainability, sourcing and design across all platforms… They’re helping Outerknown in any way necessary, and I’ve become a brand ambassador for any and all of their brands that make sense for both of us…Brioni, Balenciaga, Tretorn, StellaMcCartney and others have all gotten behind me to lend their support in some way or another.”
Slater earlier this year ended a 23-year relationship with Huntington Beach-based Quiksilver Inc. that also included sponsorship deal and clothing collaborations.
