The 335-room Wyndham Irvine-Orange County Airport held a launch party Thursday evening following the completion of several property improvements.

Common areas, along with the hotel’s 7,500 square feet of meeting space, have new lighting, carpeting and furniture, among other upgrades. Guest rooms have new bedding, work areas and free Wi-Fi.

The Laguna Cliffs Marriott Resort and Spa in Dana Point recently wrapped up its own renovations to its spa. The hotel had sustainability in mind with spa lockers featuring new laminate, reframed mirrors, re-stained wood treatment and new art using reclaimed wood.

And, gastropub Fireside opened its doors at the 224-room Crowne Plaza Costa Mesa recently, featuring contemporary American fare.

Meantime, Windsor Management Services of Santa Monica tapped Tom Pugh to be interim general manager of the 300-room Embassy Suites Hotel Santa Ana-Orange County Airport North. Pugh most recently served as general manager of the 206-room Embassy Suites Hotel Colorado Springs. He fills a spot previously filled by Regina Samy, who is now general manager of the 228-room Embassy Suites Brea-North Orange County.
