The S&P 500 was up 0.08% to 1,840.22 in afternoon trading Tuesday.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 0.44% to 16,386.89, while the Nasdaq was up 0.38% to 4,213.61.

The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond slipped 0.07% to 2.83%.

The price of gold fell 0.85% to $1,241.20 per ounce.


Santa Ana-based Ingram Micro Inc. rose about 2.5% to $25.89 for a market value of $3.99 billion. The company inked an exclusive distribution agreement with Colorado-based hardware company X-IO Technologies for the U.S.


Anaheim drug developer Questcor Pharmaceuticals Inc. was up about 6% to $62.67 for a market value of $3.69 billion. A report said the Chronic Disease Fund said it now has funding for multiple sclerosis. Questcor makes H.P. Acthar Gel, which is used for multiple treatments, including for multiple sclerosis flare-ups, rheumatoid arthritis and infantile spasms.
