The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 0.02% to 16,535.31 The Nasdaq was down 0.02% to 4,266.99.
The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond rose 1.38% to 2.80%.
The price of gold rose 0.86% to $1,290.90 per ounce.
Irvine-based Autobytel Inc. shares were up about 25% to $14.99 on raised revenue guidance for the first quarter. Autobytel, which runs several websites that provide auto dealer leads and information to prospective car buyers, had a recent market value of $133.55 million.
Newport Beach-based William Lyon Homes was up about 3.5% to $28.98 for a market value of $902.92 million. The company said in a Securities and Exchange Commission filing Tuesday that it completed its sale of $150 million in senior notes due 2019.
Irvine-based TRI Pointe Homes Inc. rose about 3.5% to $17 as other homebuilders were also generally up on Wednesday. The company had a recent market value of $537.54 million.
