The S&P 500 was up 0.20% to 1,749.85 in early afternoon trading Thursday.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 0.50% to 15,490.09, while the Nasdaq was ahead by 0.52% to 3,927.50.
The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond was up 0.97% to 2.51%.
The price of gold rose 1.23% to $1,350.40 per ounce.
Irvine-based CoreLogic Inc.’s shares were up more than 16% to a market value of about $3 billion after an announcement that it beat expectations with a 7% increase in third-quarter earnings. Trading volume for the company, which provides residential property information and analytics, was more than three times the daily average by early afternoon.
Irvine-based healthcare software maker Quality Systems Inc.’s shares are up 3% to a market value of about $1.43 billion after it announced September earnings and revenue that missed analyst expectations. Revenue and software system sales were up from the prior quarter, however, cheering investors.
