Executives at two Orange County-based auto brands are among the most influential chief marketing officers in the world, according to Forbes Magazine’s 2013 CMO Influence Study.
Michael Sprague, vice president of marketing and communications for Irvine-based Kia Motors America ranked No. 10 among the 66 marketing executives listed. Steve Shannon, vice president of marketing for Costa Mesa-based Hyundai Motor America, took the No. 17 spot.
The 2013 CMO Influence Study, conducted by Appinions for Forbes Magazine, analyzed the top 500 companies from the Forbes Global 2000 Biggest Public Companies list to determine the most influential CMOs.
Shannon joined Hyundai in April 2011 after 25 years at General Motors Corp. Sprague joined Kia in August 2008, after working for Ford Motor Co. and Mazda Motor Corp.
