Ingram Micro Buys Data Destruction Firm

Santa Ana-based Ingram Micro Inc. added to its data security services with an acquisition of a company in Georgia.

CloudBlue Technologies Inc. in suburban Atlanta specializes in disposing information technology assets, data destruction and e-waste recycling services.

Financial terms of the deal, which closed last week, weren’t disclosed.

Privately held CloudBlue, founded in 2008, doesn’t disclose financial data. It has more than 1,000 data center, retail and original equipment manufacturing customers. The company operates more than 40 offices around the globe.

CloudBlue will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of Ingram Micro.

Ken Beyer, former chief executive and cofounder of CloudBlue, will lead the company as vice president of Ingram Micro and president of CloudBlue. He’ll report to Robert Gifford, Ingram Micro’s executive vice president of global logistics.

Ingram Micro is the world’s largest distributor of computers, software and other technology products. It reported a second-quarter profit of $69.7 million on revenue of about $10.3 billion.
