The S&P 500 was up 0.81% to 1,695.13 in afternoon trading Tuesday.
The Dow Jones industrial average rose 0.46% to 15,199.25, while the Nasdaq rose 1.03% to 3,810.22.
The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond was up 0.92% to 2.64%.
The price of gold was off 3.04% to $1,286.70 per ounce.
Santa Ana-based Ingram Micro Inc. was up about 3% to $23.65, a day after the company said it plans to buy CloudBlue Technologies Inc. on undisclosed terms. Ingram—the world’s largest distributor of technology products—had a recent market value of $2.61 billion.
Newport Beach-based Clean Energy Fuels Corp. was up about 8% to $13.79 for a market value of $1.23 billion. The company said last week on Twitter it planned to make a “big announcement” later today on “moving America forward.” That announcement has been postponed to Thursday, with the company citing the government shutdown.
