Action Sports Manufacturers, Retailers Converge for Annual SIMA Image Awards

Orange County brands dominated Aliso Viejo-based Surf Industry Manufacturers Association’s annual SIMA Image Awards Thursday evening.

The event, which is held annually, attracted more than 800 executives from action sports apparel and accessories companies and specialty retailers to the City National Grove of Anaheim.

The awards show moved to The Grove last year from its previous venue at the House of Blues at Downtown Disney.

SIMA selected 80 nominees, a mix of industry manufacturers and retailers, in 16 different categories.

Local brands that received an award included O’Neill, RVCA, Hurley and Vans.
