Irvine-based apparel licensing company La Jolla Group Inc. has brought on a new executive to oversee the company’s international growth.
La Jolla named Ian Calvesbert general manager for Europe, Africa and the Middle East. It is a new position at La Jolla.
Calvesbert is based in England and previously spent the last 13 years as managing director of the Europe, Middle East and Africa business of Fox Head Europe Ltd., part of Morgan Hill-based motocross company Fox Head Inc.
“A key objective for LJG is to introduce our portfolio and brand-building mindset overseas,” La Jolla Group Chief Executive Toby Bost said in a statement. “Based on our success here in the U.S., we are confident that we can provide the same operational services and brand value to retailers worldwide.”
La Jolla Group has the license to make apparel under the O’Neill, Rusty, Metal Mulisha, FMF and The Berrics brands.
La Jolla Group’s efforts to grow its international business began last year when it hit hired General Manager Doug Iwasa for the Canadian market.
