Irvine-based Mazda North American Operations Chief Marketing Officer Don Romano has resigned.
Romano’s last day with the company was July 3.
The company will announce a new head of marketing in the future, according to Mazda Vice President of Public Affairs & Motorsports Jay Amestoy.
Romano, who had been with the company since 2000, also held the title of president of Mazda Canada Inc.
Kory Koreeda, former executive vice president of Mazda Canada, has been promoted to president.
Mazda is currently undergoing a restructuring that included voluntary buyout packages offered to employees earlier this year. A total of 107 workers between the Irvine headquarters and the company’s research-and-development facility, also in Irvine, accepted the buyouts.
Amestoy declined to say whether Romano was one of those workers.
