Portland, Ore.-based Precision Castparts Corp. has wrapped up its $110 million buy of Shur-Lok Group, an Irvine maker of aerospace fasteners, the companies said Friday.
A family business founded some 55 years ago, Shur-Lok now is part of Precision Castparts’ fastener business. Shur-Lok’s Irvine and European operations employ 270 people.
The buy is the second in Orange County in the past year for Precision Castparts. In early 2005, the company paid $194 million to buy Garden Grove’s Air Industries Corp.
Frederick W. Rohe, who died in 1998, started Shur-Lok in the early 1950s in Los Angeles. He later moved the operation to Irvine. His son, Robert W. Rohe, ran the company up until the sale to Precision.
