Hospital Operator Looks to Buy

With an eye to boosting its hospital holdings, Costa Mesa-based Integrated Healthcare Holdings Inc. named James T. Ligon to the new position of executive vice president of mergers and acquisitions, the company said Wednesday.

Ligon, a founder of the company, has stepped down as chief financial officer. Steven R. Blake will become chief financial officer in additon to his position as chief accounting officer.

Blake is a former regional vice president of finance for Tenet Healthcare Corp.

In March, Integrated Healthcare wrapped up its $70 million buy of four hospitals from Tenet Healthcare Corp.

Integrated Healthcare owns Western Medical Center-Santa Ana, Western Medical Center-Anaheim, Coastal Communities Hospital in Santa Ana and Chapman Medical Center in Orange.

Tenet Healthcare sold the local hospitals and others in California as part of a restructuring.

“These executive changes support the company’s forward-looking plans for future acquisitions,” said Larry Anderson, Integrated Healthcare’s president.
