ACCOUNTING

Irvine-based Haskell & White LLP promoted John Huckabay, Paul Louis, Jenny Lee, Christina Kuno, Ryan Lewis and Jorge Sandoval. Huckabay and Louis became senior managers, Lee was promoted to manager in the firm’s tax department, Sandoval was promoted to tax senior accountant, and Kuno and Lewis were promoted to audit seniors in the audit and business advisory services department.

Windes & McClaughry Accountancy Corp. hired Ed Bernabeo as business development officer in its Irvine office. Bernabeo will be responsible for business development strategy, planning, and execution.

Macias Gini & O’Connell LLP promoted Zukie Chiu, Jack Ponvanit and Lee Siow from associates to senior associates in the firm’s Newport Beach office. All three have been with the firm since 2008.

ARTS

The Laguna Playhouse in Laguna Beach hired Amy Larson as director of development. Larson returns to the playhouse after serving as development director for Saint Joseph Ballet in Santa Ana for two years. Prior to that, she was director of individual giving at the Laguna Playhouse.

BANKING

Irvine-based Plaza Bank hired Al De Grassi as senior vice president. Previously, De Grassi served as senior vice president and regional manager with Harbor National Bank in Anaheim and as a senior vice president with the Irvine office of Alliance Bank, now part of California Bank & Trust.

HEALTHCARE

The Orange County Society of Plastic Surgeons named Michael Sundine president. Sundine is chief of pediatric plastic surgery at Children’s Hospital of Orange County and is an associate clinical professor in the division of plastic surgery at the University of California, Irvine. The group helps consumers find local doctors who offer plastic and cosmetic surgery.

LAW

Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP partner Jim Moloney was elected chair of the Proxy Statements and Business Combinations Subcommittee of the Federal Regulation of Securities Committee. Moloney, who is based out of the firm’s Irvine office, will oversee the development and application of federal securities laws.

NONPROFIT

Susan Kirkland has been named senior director of development for Court Appointed Special Advocates, a nonprofit organization that works to prevent child abuse. She will oversee all of CASA’s fund development activities with a focus on major and planned gifts. Prior to joining CASA, Kirkland was the director of major gifts for the Orange County Performing Arts Center.

The Orange County Community Foundation, which oversees annual charitable giving of more than $20 million, elected Samuel Anderson to its board of governors. Anderson has more than 40 years of experience as a pharmaceutical and biotechnology executive, including former posts as chief executive of Trancel Inc. and chairman and chief executive of Alpha Therapeutics.

The Blind Children’s Learning Center in Santa Ana hired Paul Culver as director of fund development. Culver recently was at the Pacific Symphony, where he coordinated corporate donations. He will focus on funding additional services for blind, visually impaired and deaf and blind children.

REAL ESTATE

Pam Poliakoff has rejoined Irvine-based Keystone Pacific Property Management Inc. as a community association manager. She spent the last eight years as business development director of the American Heart Association’s Inland Empire branch.

RESTAURANTS

Youssef Alaoui was promoted to corporate director of sales of Charlie Palmer Group. Alaoui, who will be based in Orange County, has been with Charlie Palmer Group for 11 years and most recently was the regional director of sales in Las Vegas.

TECHNOLOGY

Michael Lin was appointed as chief financial officer at Irvine-based Uniloc USA Inc. Lin previously was vice president of finance and strategic planning at Norway’s Fast Search and Transfer ASA, which was acquired by Microsoft Corp. in 2008.
